UA-5 and MT2496 powered by same source?
« on: June 30, 2007, 08:26:04 PM »
Just sent my UA-5 out for a Busman mod.  Hope to get it rolling soon with my MBHOs and a MT2496.  Just wondering what folks are using for battery.  Seems there was a device that could power both, but I cannot find info on where to buy (Bumblebee?).  Anyway, any help is appreciated.

i have a bumblebee vr box - works great
there are others that can make them though - since the bb box and the juice box are no longer made if you can't find one new you are out of luck
you can use a 9v wallmart dvd type battery with a vr box that has passthru and a second line cut down to 5v

if you do find a bb or jb vr box make sure it has the correct voltage there are some that are 6v, 9v whatever you want a 9v with 5v one for a ua5 and mt/jb3 (depending on the cable end)
Mics - AKG ck61/ck63 (c480b & Naiant actives), SP-BMC-2
XLR Cables - Silver Path w/Darktrain stubbies
Interconnect Cables - Dogstar (XLR), Darktrain (RCA > 1/8) (1/8 > 1/8), and Kind Kables (1/8f > 1/4)
Preamps - Naiant Littlebox & Tinybox
Recorders - PCM-M10 & DR-60D
