I bought some of the B&H batteries, the sleeves pulled out on my charger and or my 722. I went to Samy's cameras in LA and bought a pair of the new Lenmar batteries. They were mismarked at $92.95 (guessing but it was in the $90 range) guy said price was marked wrong and gave them to be at the lower price.
Package says a single full discharge will give maximum battery life.
After a full 24 charge I placed it on my 722 and powered my AKG414s via phantom. Got about 9+ hrs on intial charge. (Not all at once) did it over 4 times. After batteries hit 6.9 volts drop to 6.5 was fairly quick - approx 1 hr. This was on the intial charge. If they packaging is correct I should get a longer life on the next use.

This is the battery I use in my SD702......never killed one....never ran it till it was dead......they last forever....plus a 3 year warranty to boot.... great price!

I picked 3 up a month or 2 back... seems they are working great so far.

i charged one up last night and then tried to run it down compeletely (like the directions said) by sending 4 channels to the 744. the thing still hadn't dipped below 7v in around 5 hours of 4 channel 24/96. not sure how long it lasted, though (I went to bed)

You didn't just hit record and let it run. That's what I've done to get run times.
At what point do people retire the L series batteries? Does the voltage just creep up to the point where it reports a high number like 7.9 and dies or what?

Do you think this battery would work for the Tascam DR-680 or the V3? Also, did someone make you a custom cable to use with your 744?

This battery is the Lenmar version of the Sony L-Series which are the batteries the 7xx boxes were designed for.

You didn't just hit record and let it run. That's what I've done to get run times.

it recorded for a few hours, then i stopped it, erased the drive, and let it record until it died. I guess I can look to see how many hours it recorded the second time
and i retired my old batteries because they'd say 8.0 or 8.1 when fully charged, but quickly drop to 7.4 or so after just a few minutes. they're from feb 2005, so I got a good 5.5+ years out of them

i started recording 4 channels (line in) last night a little before 11pm. when I left for work at 7:30am this morning, it was still going and the battery was at 6.8v. that's 8.5 hours of 4 channels and it wasn't dead yet

no phantom. just line in. still surprising to me

there are different factors that will affect run time.
brightness of LED's or unit could be in stealth mode
phantom power engaged
using internal HD or not

mine was line in, going to internal HD, lights on about medium brightness and backlight on

610 minutes. 10 hours and 10 minutes of 4 channel line in, no phantom, lights and backlight on.
so digi in with the lights off or stealth mode will run forever

new batteries; 6.9. I get ansy if I left it run longer then that.
old batteries: 0.2 volts before it dies (mine goes caput at 7.2 now).
A new lenmar is on my christmas list.

I use this same battery in my 702.
With 48V on it will run for almost 9 hours. I have had it for about 3 years and is still running great.
