need some help with a preamp

i got a panasonic sv-3700 for dirt cheap, it only has xlr outs so i made up some xlr>rca cables for my stereo, but the signal is too soft.  what is a preamp i could use to boost the signal to the reciever?  id like it to be quality, but not too much money.

ive got a great tube preamp that ill let go for like 250.  just had a ton of work done on it by paul at pro digital
