V-Mount 150Wh 14.4v via D-Tap
« on: March 19, 2019, 11:43:14 AM »
Still rocking the Maxoak K2 185WH batteries three years on...but, have pulled the trigger on a Neewer V-Mount 150Wh 14.4v via D-Tap to power the 4MinX for festy duty. The reason to make the change was no power switch to worry about & better connection to the battery...not that either failed on the K2 set up. Understand this will not work for the consumer grade 12v all in one recorders...at least I'd not chance putting 14.4v into my old Tascam DR-680

The battery is bulky, but, fits into my Petrol PS617 battery compartment...which is a similar size on the other Petrol bag's I've had in the past. It has extra room to carry two sets of microphones and mounts...when I go festy mode I usually pack one set of microphones and a smaller Kata Koala mixer bag that just has a large compartment for extra accoutrements. I see no issues with that bag either.

Neewer V-Mount 150Wh 14.4v $130
D-Tap to 4 Pin Hirose cable $26.50
Generic D-Tap Charger $28

I'll run it this spring...may pick up a better charger and a couple of batteries if it goes as expected.
