Title: Markertek... ugh....
Post by: aberg on June 14, 2004, 07:28:33 PM
So I ordered some cable and connectors from markertek, and without telling me what the shipping costs would be, they sent it via UPS express at a cost of 46 bucks US... which is a lot more than the cost of the items I bought... fucking frustrating. Anyone else had this happen too?

I ordered two of the gold, right angle 3.5mm Switchcraft connectors from Markertech, which were not only several dollars below competetors but I was only charged 1.50 shipping.

Mileage obviously varies, but my transaction was good.

i deal with markertek all the time.  you have to know the part numbers you want and you have to review your order before you hit send. If you have any questions or problems, call them and they do their best to rectify any errors.  as far as shipping goes, proofread your order before you place it, there is a place to verify what type of shipping you want.

My problem turned out to be that for some reason I thought UPS express would be cheaper than expidited.. Mostly, I don't know jack about shipment terms/options, so I made the error... but they don't list any prices cuz it depends on the weight, so it was very misleading. These cheap mic cables I was going to make are ending up costing me $70 USD for a pair of 15 footers... kind of shitty. Oh well.. live and learn.

i only ordered 3-pins and 40 ft of star quad, they sent me the star quad.....................

4 months later because they didnt have the 3-pins i wanted at the time, so it sat on the shelf.

then, the fockers sent me 4-pins!!

i didnt even fight w/ em, but they NEVER get my hard earned dollar again!

I ordered from them
I see I am not alone in frustrations with them

They overcharged me for shipping(double)
I got that corrected. I questioned them when the tracking info came out
and asked how much my package weighed for Priority Mail to be 15 bucks
they said 24lbs, more like 9lb with some rocks in the bag.
The order was correct, but the shipping was out of this world.
for that alone, I will never order from them again.

there is a place to verify what type of shipping you want.

yes, a place to select your shipment means of choice
but no shipping price until they are ready to ship.

I ordered from Redco and got my stuff in a very timely manner and saved 10 bucks on shipping
