Topic: Sonosax powering (via 10 X AA sled)

Rigged this up for the festy at Asagiri after gathering parts from Akihabara.  Used cheap alkalines, 4/100yen (like those Vartas they sell at Ikea, 10/$2) made by GP.  Collected data with my cheapy voltmeter throughout the festy and subsequent shows after (over a three month period):

Initial voltage: 15.80 (I tested it for fifteen minutes before I read the voltage)

After 1:05tt  : 15.08

After 4:35tt  : 14.68

After 5:35tt  : 14.46

After 8:15tt  : 14.28

After 10:30tt : 14.00

I think you could get 12  hours, no sweat....

so this is really simple i just picked up a sax and was wondering the best powering method, this may be it, otherwise i was gonnas buy NIMH 12v rc batts

Although I dont think making a sled is a bad idea I felt using 2x9.6v RC batteries wired in series to be a better way to go for me. Gives me plenty of record time at festies and local shows. Check out this thread for more info

i read that a bunch, i am gonna use 3 x 7.2v NIMH batts wired in series, thats 21.6v and 3000mah, that should be plenty of power

Have you considered one of the Lithium 9v DVD batteries? It'll power the Sax for 15-16 hours easily...

thats def an option, but i already have 12 x 3000mah batts 7.2v

i read that a bunch, i am gonna use 3 x 7.2v NIMH batts wired in series, thats 21.6v and 3000mah, that should be plenty of power

would a 19.2v>24volt NIMH RC charger be sufficient for the batteries i wired in series i wired 3 x 7.2v 3000mah batts in series to equal 21.6v@3000mah, wouldnt a 19.2>24v charger be ideal?
