How do I convince the wife.....

I need this amp!!!  My god, I about nut when I saw it.  I have been dreaming about one coming up used.  Maybe if I sell the boat.....

i think the boat would be a lot more fun than the amp personally....but it'll be a lot easier to buy another boat then the amp it looks like.  plus gas is expensive.  (actually its $2.04 in lansing)

I have trouble negotiating an $800 purchase....nevermind an $8000 one.  That's  more than I paid for my truck!

Assuming you're not going waaaaay over budget you can use the same strategy I do:

Think of all the things she likes to do, that you hate, and get ready to do them.....all.

or

If you get to spend $8k so does she.

You need to condition her.  You're well on your way judging by your room.  My wife is well broken in by now, an 8k purchase doesn't even faze her anymore  ;D

that one would be hard to hide...

i mean, conceivably you could hide agrace 901 away onn the rack someplace, and it could go unnotced. interconnect/power supply/power cord upgrade, those can squeak by, but not that thing...

does kind of look like a minibar.

exactly, you keep it out in the open, they figure that it couldnt have cost that much...otherwise we wouldnt have tempted them to jump all over us for having it out in the open....of course, my wife is starting to figure that one out...need to develop a new strategy
