ADC20 gain?
« on: March 13, 2004, 05:44:31 PM »
Ok, so once my roomie gets home I can get the oade cable thats waiting for me, and I can finally run this adc20 for the first time tonight! My question is regarding the gain of the unit. is it noisy? Is it going to interfere with the battery Box I have for my SP's?

I plan on playing with it but just curious about other's experiences.

BTW, I'll be taping Red Giant tonight, stoner rock'ish band on Teepee records if anyone wants to hear it.

The ADC20 is not noisy at all; it is just an A/D converter.  It has a very limited gain curve so a variable gain preamp is required with it.  The gain is only from like -6 to +8 I believe.  The calpots are designed to be calibrated to a preamp and then left untouched.  You use the preamp to adjust all gain.
