anyone use http://www.ustream.tv
« on: January 13, 2010, 01:39:42 PM »
Has anyone used http://www.ustream.tv to capture a show? A long distance friend has set me up with an account to use while filming with my camcorder connecting to my laptop. I've played a little bit with it but so far haven't got the video to work. So far I've only used the USB to connect to my laptop but the camera and laptop do have an HDMI connection as well (but I'll have to find a small to large ends HDMI cable)

Yes.
Usb should be fine, or firewire. What camera are you using? It won't recognize HDV if you are trying that. It has to be DV. Is your laptop recognizing your camera.

You can use the Ustream high Quality encoder or Adobe Flash Media Encoder. The Adobe is better. All the instructions are on " your shows" > Advanced tab.

As far as capturing a show. You would have to transmit it over Ustream and hit the record button after you start transmitting the stream.
