Aren't a lot of what we use traditionally AC powered?  Like the UA-5?

Most of the stuff we use around here is DC-powered but comes w/ an AC wall-wart p/s, like the UA-5.  One reason this is done is to make intl. distribution easier--make one product and change the wall-wart depending on where it's going.
