external power for Microtrack II
« on: March 10, 2009, 06:46:33 PM »
Here's a battery product I noticed while browsing on Amazon.com
http://www.amazon.com/Lenmar-Universal-Powerport-Power-Adapter/dp/B0015ZZZLS/

One reviewer of this $20 item says it works fine as an external battery for the M-Audio Microtrack II.

The Lenmar Universal Powerport is a lithium-ion battery with cables that let you charge it from mains power, or from a 12V car power outlet.  Specs say the battery holds 7800 mWa of 5V DC power.  There's a two year warranty.

Also included are the cables necessary to attach to an iPhone, several PDAs and other types of phones.

I have one of these and it's sweet.  I use it with my I-River, I-Pod & I-Phone.  I paid more, so I would say this is a great price.

FYI these have dropped in price to $15.50

This is what I use with my Microtrack.  I think I paid $30-35 for mine and it didnt include all of the accessories.

Ordered 2 more today at this great price.

I'm using my old Korg 4 AA external battery pack, i just
put a usb tip onto the 5v connector, works fine with the MT2.

How long do you get running the Microtrack?

If I remember correctly the test I did when I first got this gave me about 6 hours analog in.  Need to do a test digital in and actually right down my results this time. ::)

Any luck with the MR-1?

Works like a charm but only got me about 2 hours.  Which is fine for 99% of the stuff I record.  Most of the shows that I would need longer run time I can get ac power.

Yes, my preliminary tests indicated that it powered the MR-1, but that low number of hours is alarming.

I have had the Lenmar for about 2 months and it works great!  Very small and tons of adapters!

The Lenmar doesn't work with a JB3, doesn't have the correct adapter tip!
