Title: Microtrack 2496 compatible with Lexar 80x 2GB CF?
Post by: eskin on October 16, 2005, 01:52:05 PM
When I used to have an Edirol R1, it had issues with the Lexar 80x 2 GB card, was curious if anyone has tried using this card with the Microtrack.

Thanks for any info,

Michael

Doing some testing today with the 2 GB Lexar 80x card. On a full charge got almost exactly 4 hours continuous recording at 320 kbit mp3 44.1 KHz sample rate using the supplied T mike before the unit shut itself down due to the battery being used up. Final file size was right around 520 Megabytes.

I'm curious, is anyone getting anything like the advertised 8 hours of recording on a charge? Any sense for whether its better to conserve power by reducing card access using compressed capture vs. additional power used to do .mp3 compression vs. raw capture.  4 hours is great, and I'm not complaining, I've got a USB battery box on its way, but 8 hours would be fantastic.

Cheers,

Michael

Check out this thread about MT runtimes:

I don't think anyone has recorded for 8 hours on one battery charge, so far..
