Title: replacement 4022 case
Post by: yousef on May 26, 2016, 01:38:36 PM
Ahhh, today I dropped an (empty and previous slightly damaged) 4022 case and it broke along the back, hinged, edge...

I don't suppose anyone has a spare they want to get rid of do they? I'm guessing that a new replacement from DPA, if they even supply them, would be stupidly expensive  :-[

One of the clamshell boxes? If so, I would at least try a mail to DPA. They don't give much away, but they have also cut me some breaks along the way (for example, they replaced a pair of clips I was unhappy with for a more expensive pair on their dime). Can't hurt to ask. On the other hand, I wouldn't be shocked if they offered you a stupidly expensive replacement...

Id get a Pelican hard case ala the 1060 or something and be done with it ;D You can get the case and pick n pluck foam insert so you can customize how the 4022's sit inside of it, for probably $25-30/Shipped!

Thanks for the replies - great ideas both. Will report back if DPA offer me anything reasonable - otherwise it's a nice new Pelican case for me...
