Canon EOS 550d **Audio Spec

Hi,

Does anyone have the Audio Spec for the Canon EOS 550d Camera? Just wondering if it's good enough to use with external mics & ditch a dedicated audio recorder.

Biggest issue is no manual gain control.  If quality audio matters you need a separate audio recorder
