Are rechargables (8.4v) OK to use in a CA-9100 to run CA-14's?

C'mon guys. Someone has got to be using these. You can get them from 8.2v to 10.2v, with nothing at 9v. Of course voltage on alkalines drop as they are being used. I would not want to damage anything with 10.2v, if it is not recommended. I could just email Chris but I thought someone else might benefit from knowing about this as well.

I use the Maha Powerex 9.6 that Chris Church recommends in my 9100. When I metered them after the first charge they were all around 10.75. No issues here so far using them. You may want to post in the Team Church-Audio thread.

I don't remember where I got mine, but I shopped around and got three batteries and 4-bay charger for around $50 bucks, I think.

So far Chris has only recommended the ones mentioned by hoppedup. A number of members have reported good experiences with them and I have not heard of anyone having a problem with them. You do need to use a charger that is designed for them. A typical 9 volt battery charger won't charge them to full capacity.

You can buy them and an appropriate charger here:

Thanks for the replies. I had tried search but had misspelled rechargable, so found nothing. I just di a re- search with it spelled right and found this info on the CA-UGLY thread. I am awed by the depth of knowlege and helpfulness on this board.
