Ugly for gain I suppose?

Depends on how the PS2 behaves with 7-9V across it's output.

I'm about to go offline for about  week in a few hrs so forgive me if I don't respond to any follow up.

What recorder? I've found there isn't a need for a preamp when I run BSC1 > Denecke PS-2 > Sony M10.

m10.

I am just experimenting to see if the CA ugly has a better sound than the m10 preamp.
