Behringer - MXB1002 - Anyone have any experience?
« on: May 10, 2003, 11:04:05 PM »
So, I am looking at the Behringer mixer noted in the subject to possibly run multiple mic mixes and also SB and AUD mixes.  My question is whether anyone has any experience with this unit.  I know one guy that used it for a multi-mic mix and it worked for that, so my question is primarily in the AUD+SB mix arena.  In looking at this unit, it does not appear that there is a delay, but since I am a business guy by education  ;D, I don't even know what exactly I should be looking for!

Any and all input is appreciated.  Also if anyone has any ideas that fall in this price range ~$130, that can be portably powered, let me know.

Nick, come on, hook up on my Behringer mixer!! It has got absolutely everything necassary to run sbd/aud matrixes with 99, 24 bit effects with 6 of them being delays and you can run multi-mic mixes with no sweat!!

Yeah, spend the little extra and help a fellow taper out.  You know he will just buy more gear with it anyway, gear sluts, gotta love em ;)

Hi Nick,

I just made a post with a less than flattering comment about Behringer products.  No offense intended.

Please post the model number of that unit.

I would like to know more about it.

Marc,

No offense taken, just looking for honest input.  The unit I was looking at was the MXB1002, which appears to be the only behringer mixer that is truly portable (from a powering perspective), but from feedback I have gotten from people on this board and I guy I know who used it, is "noisy."  As a result, I have decided to continue my ways of matrix making by recording 2 DAT's and mixing them post on the computer!

Thanks though....feedback is exactly what I was looking for...now if you knocked my mic's... ;D

Hi Nick and all,

The MXB1002 looks like a very simple mixer with analog functionality but no delay (a digital process).  Quite cool considering price point and portability/powerability.

Jason B, which model do you have?
"It has got absolutely everything necassary to run sbd/aud matrixes with 99, 24 bit effects with 6 of them being delays and you can run multi-mic mixes with no sweat!!"

Happy Recording Everybody,

Thanks Jason.

It looks like a comprehensive compact board.

I can see that schlepping it around for the use of only four channels could get to be a drag.

Happy Recording,

Marc

It's not that big of a deal at all. I have a nice bag that it fits in perfectly and it is not heavy at all.
