Line-In Brickwalling on Sony DATs
« on: September 15, 2003, 05:15:43 PM »
Seacrhed around and couldn't find the old threads I remember seeing.

My buddy and I were taping a show in Portland and got into a discussion about going line in on a Sony DAT from certain battery boxes.  Can anyone point me/us in the right direction to understanding this?

Make sure you DO go line in and you won't brickwall. Brickwalling only happens if you go mic in and use the Sony built-in pre-amp.

Well, you CAN brickwall the line-in, but that only happens if you're coming out of a soundboard with their pro-level outputs.
