Topic: okmII + Sony tcd-d7 configuration help!!!!

hi.
i have the soundman okmIIr and the tcd d7 dat recorder.
i have no A3 but i have the Visivox SCM-PRE-AMP ( http://www.visivoxtechnologies.com/products.htm )
it is the first time i must rec a live concert (not in a palasport but in an old roman theatre.
can you help me with the configuration?
i need the a3 or my scmpre is ok?
how i must set the volume level on my dat?

Hi!

From what I figure, the preamp alone should do just fine in powering the mics.
The A3 is actually nothing more than a battery box, unless U need the attenuation
and bass roll off features on it. The preamp U mentioned on here, doesn't seem
to work like a preamp, but rather like a battery box as well..

What kind of concert are you going to? Depending on the loudness and the type
of OKMs U have, U might have to go into mic-in instead of line-in.

With the Cure, you shld have to go line-in. Normally, I wouldn't recommend the Klassiks
for loud concerts, but I've seen people pull it off.

PLug the okms to ur battery box, and the battery box to line-in of D7, and U shld be set
to go. I hope U know with the OKMs, that the best application of them is to stick them
into ur ears

Do not forget to set the D7 accordingly (line in, manual gain...).
Experiment at home with your loud stereo (or use headphones to feed the mics).
Check the levels during a support act? (if at all)
Adjust and leave alone.
