Slickdeals posted a 22" Zenith (LG) 720p LCD HDTV and I went and scooped one up today. Since this has a built in tuner, could I run my coax TV cable into it AND also use it as a monitor for my computer? (at the same time, or would it be mutually exclusive, or perhaps an A/B switch?

I'm no expert, but I'd guess you have to choose a single input for the lcd. If I'm correct, you could most likely switch back and forth from TV to PC monitor. I don't think you'd be able to do both at the same time...but I could wrong.

This is a fine deal if you can get it. OOS online, but stores near you may have them in stock. Check online for your availability. My CC only had 1 in stock and I grabbed it.

I wonder if any TVs have PiP that will allow different input types. :hmmm: That would be pretty cool.

The PIP on our LCD TVs doesn't work the same as older analog TVs, so it causes some confusion. Most of our LCD TVs are setup under the assumption that HDTV or PC will be the main source. So, Component and VGA (RGB-PC) are the main sources. Therefore, you can only use TV (coax), Video 1, Video 2, or S-Video as the PIP source when using Component or PC as the main.
Main Picture Source Available Sub-Picture Sources
VGA (RGB-PC) or Component (YPbPr) TV (Coax), Video 1, Video 2, or S-Video
TV (Coax), Video 1, Video 2, or S-Video VGA (RGB-PC) or Component (YPbPr)
So you may be able to use it simultaneously as a computer monitor and a tv.
I looked and could not find your model listed in the Owner's Manuals section. No returns for a 22LCD3. I also didn't see any 22" models while looking for the manual. May be too new for the website or Zenith/LG just don't want it available electronically.

Got it home and hooked it up.
From what I saw, no pip or any way to use two inputs at the same time. That's a good idea though as the price of these 720p's drop with HD tuners...if you get one with pip, you should be able to watch TV and do your computing at the same time.
I'll have to check again though just to make certain I didn't miss anything.
