One channel drop outs
« on: October 26, 2016, 08:25:32 PM »
Hey taperssection!

Recently one of my stereo mics has started to produce a lot of small "spikes" in the left channel.
I have tried 3 different battery boxes to eliminate that there is a battery box issue.
What is the probable issue causing this problem and what needs to be fixed?
As you can see in the pic below it does not occour all the time.

Thanks
N

What kind of mics and recorder and use?  Can't say much without more info.

I'd suspect a cable issue has developed though it could also be the input jack (not uncommon for well used minjack inputs).  "Battery box" suggests low-profile minjack oriented application...

looks like a connection issue. Try wiggling the various components while listening to the ongoing recording with headphones. Should make it fairly easy to find the issue
