Press menu 'till menu appears on the display. Now use the AMS buttons
to toggle thru the selection 'till you see HOUR, this is drum hours
in units of 1 hour...Doug

Not sure what's up, I'm a R500 noob...

But on my R500, I hit Menu so that it was lit-up.  Then I used the Toggle Dial until it read HOUR.  A 4-digit display shows the hours, in my case 0606.

I'm guessing this is how I check Head Hours on my R500.

that's right - I didn't think you could check the head hours on a R300  ???

R500/R700 you definitely can and the way twatts mentioned is correct.

You can also turn on the undocumented error counter if you hack the remote on the R500 and R700
