metal detectors at the door

New to TaperSection.

Curious how other tapers are handling metal detectors at the door to a club when it comes to getting a recording deck thru.   the club I go to often for 4-5 shows didn't even ask when put my cell and recorder in the bowl and slid down the end but the last show, they made me coat check my deck.

any suggestions to getting the deck thru metal detectors?  my mics don't trip the detector nor my power supply for the mics either  so just the deck.

thanks

Todd

This should be discussed privately.

Slightly off topic, but has anyone had any gear issues later from walk through detectors when open taping?

If it's one of those doorway-like metal detectors there's no place to hide.

I have the Sony PCM-M10 and it looks like a camera/phone/whatever. At places like Madison Square Garden I just dump it in the bowl along with small mics, IEM earbuds, keys, phone, wallet, a bunch of metallic junk and wires all jumbled together, and they just don't care.

If it's wands, well, there's the crotch method....but in the YouTube era I really don't think things are that rigorous.
