ISO: Mirrorless camera w/GPS.
« on: March 15, 2015, 05:47:45 PM »
I've been looking for a new camera. Something smaller than my 50D, but I'd also like to change lenses and really control everything you can with a DSLR.

The Sony A6000 has been getting great reviews, but it doesn't appear to have GPS...not even when linked to your phone.

I like the size of the Sony. Don't think I'd like anything larger than that.

Any suggestions?

Or do you know of anything to do to work around the lack of GPS. I would think you could make an app for your phone that would log your position during the day and then match up the time the photo was taken with your position.

I don't know anything about these particular cameras, but this is what popped up with I searched mirrorless camera GPS:  http://snapsort.com/explore/best-mirrorless/have-a-gps

Lightroom will allow you to quickly edit the metadata in a group of pictures.  Never tried entering GPS, but I suppose it would work without problems.

Panasonic G6 appears to have the ability to do something like what you want via smartphone.  http://www.photographyblog.com/reviews/panasonic_lumix_g6_review/

The G6 bodies were on sale on ebay for $288 just a day or so ago.  Might still be some available.  Downside of the G6 is it is easy to bump the iso/white balance buttons with your hand, IMO.
