Title: AD2K+ Runtimes
Post by: edtyre on April 24, 2009, 09:29:25 AM
Recently aquired a Sonic AD2K+ and wondering what kind of runtimes folks get
with external batteries.

Used this in the field a few times, and haven't had any issues yet, but noticed my
Tekkeon 3350 is dead after 2 hours 45 minutes. Tryed a few test runs  at home
and thats all i can get from any of my 12 volt external battery packs. The same batteries
power my V3 for 5 hours and my R44 for 12 hours.

Is this the normal range for this unit?

the benchmark site used to say 8 hours on a 12v 7.2aH

I know I never ran out of juice on one of those at 3+ hour shows

what's the weight on that batteryspace battery, do you know? I use a 12V SLA brick and it's never run out me yet in the short time i've been using it, but if the link you posted is lighter I may pick one up. Kinda pricy though compared to the $35 I paid for the brick at ratshack.

I get over 5 hrs with the tekkeon 3450.  I also charge/power my microtrack off its USB output.

the battery space li-on weighs 24 ounces.. yes it is pricey - but light and dependable.. I also have a tekkeon 3450 - but use it to run my portico... nothing like dragging 10-15k of gear around and not getting the show because of battery failure.. and your back is worth the money...
