ISO someone to make me a power cable
« on: November 09, 2006, 10:38:33 PM »
i have a bumble bee VR box - as seen here http://taperssection.com/index.php?topic=43240.msg556326#msg556326
it has 1 XLR plug with 2 outs on it
1 is pass through
1 is 5v

i would like to have a cable made to work with the box (to replace/use in place of the cable shown in the thread above)
still 1 XLR with 2 outs, approx 18"
1 for UA-5
1 for Microtrack, usb

if you can help please lmk how much it would be and time frame
with a new baby coming in the next week or so i am not sure i should be spending money on taping or if i will even be able to go out taping but i would like to check my options
thanks

FWIW, you can do this yourself easily enough at very low cost.  No soldering required, just use the existing cable, but modify with the appropriate connectors.  Splice a UA5 plug onto the passthrough cable, and the MT's USB connector to the 5v cable (sorry, don't know the pinout, though I bet it's on here somewhere, or someone who knows it), using screw-on wire connectors.  They're inexpensive, easy to use, secure, and field-serviceable.
