mr1000 USB connection problems
« on: November 13, 2008, 08:46:42 PM »
Hope I posted this message in the right place. Just recently I can't seem to get mr1000 to transfer data via the usb port on my desktop or laptop.
keep getting a message about Cypress AT2LP RC42 hardware or driver search. What on earth is this about? I have tried two USB cables and various USB ports on both computers.
Starting to frustrate me now. Any advice out there...I hope.

thanks clint

I know nothing :)
..however having an mr-1000 I googled and found that this chip is commonly used on external usb enclosures.
Basically it seems that under some circumstances the cypress usb chip can lose its EPROM programming, so you can re-flash it and carry on.

Some people with your problem/error message had good luck using the info on this web site:

http://daltrey.org/linux/cypress.html

BUT I'd definitely investigate returning the unit in preference to re-flashing the chip - leave that to Korg.
As a last resort it might be worth a shot..  :P
