Temporary c4 power option
« on: March 04, 2006, 02:56:05 PM »
I've searched but couldn't come up with a quick solution (ie available at the ratshack).

Here is the scenario,  I just got my c4's and the ua5 hasn't landed home yet.  I'd love to get the mics into the field tonight w/o the ua5 because I'm anxious and want to play with the new toys.  Is there a good temporary power solution?

Thanks

I do.  Good idea.

What are the options of powering them off the board?  I know the house sound guy well enough that he may let me run them off of it, if possible.  This is the first time I will have run mics in the field...So I'm green as they come.  I've done tons a reading and patching so I have an idea but NO experience w/ phantom.  Thanks for your help

Well - he can possiblly run the mics off the board phantom and give you a feed from those two channels two your deck. Most boards have some sort of insert I/O, or an Aux send on each channel - probably 1/4 phono plugs...

So you will need something to go 1/4 inch to RCA (or whatever your deck needs)

You can use mono 1/4 phono plugs on the inserts - but only plug them in half-way
