I have a pair of Audix m1290s and was wondering if it is even possible to make/get made right angle mini xlrs... i've tried searching the web but come up with nothing.
Has anyone ever come across these?
-
I have personally never seen one, but with the ingenuity of some of our cable making members here, nothing is impossible. Well, almost nothing.
-
switchcraft makes em in 3-pin only.
try mouser part numbers 502-R3FZ and 502-R3MZ.
these may be new, I dont recall seeing them before
-
is that really useful? I am happy with my minixlr, they are actually suposed to be the "handy" version of the standard sized XLRs right?

Just to be clear -- these are the RA version of standard size XLRs, not RA mini-XLRs.

yes, unfortunately I just found that out when I opened the box!
fyi, i'd prob. prefer the neutrik over the switchcraft.

I'm 97% sure Switchcraft is the only game in town as far as the mini XLRs go...
-
yup.
there is a generic brand that shows up on ebay that is 1/3rd the price...but they are not always common.
there are no RA versions of the Switchcraft TAxx mini family. But....
i've toy'd with making some RA versions. Its just really small!
I"ve got plenty of 3pins in stock if someone wants me to give it a go....
ping me

FWIW, I found these at B&H:
Sound Devices XL4 4 Piece TA3-F Package

I am gearing up to make some silver cables. I was just looking for parts in the last few days.

+t for that! I've been needing to make cables for myself for my 722 for months. That's a good price on those. :)

do the mini-xlr still pass through A/D > D/A stage or is it direct analog output?

Thanks for the link. Mine arrived today. :) I'm going to need new glasses to solder those little guys.
