Simple receiver options for small setup
« on: May 10, 2010, 09:00:03 PM »
Looking for some options for a low-cost receiver for the bedroom.  It will be a simple setup.  Just need the receiver to drive my CD player, Squeezebox, and some speakers.

Probably dont want to spend more than $125 on the receiver.  Open to other alternatives if available.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks.  After seeing this, I should add one other requirement:  Needs to have 2 sets of inputs, for the cd and squeezebox.

TIA

Is that really necessary? Depends on your listening habits. The way I see it - you can change the input when you go put in CD in the tray/ turn on the amp/ etc.

I really like the T-Amps too, I've got 3 of them in use in various systems in my house.  The Lepai TA2020 T-Amp is the cheapest of the ones I have, but it'd work fine in a bedroom listening system.  I've used mine in both my living room system and now my outdoor deck system.  It has both RCA inputs and a 1/8" stereo mini input, so you could plug in both your CD and squeezebox.  Hard to go too wrong with it for the price.

Thanks to the suggestions here, I ordered the Lepai T-Amp and have my squeezebox classic hooked up to it. So far I like it.  Need to upgrade speakers though.  What kind are you running with your T-Amp, or are you only using it w/ headphones.

Thanks.
