Here's a comparison chart between UA-25, UA-5 and UA-20:
http://www.micsupply.com/ua25.htm

After reading the Oade thread, I guess there's no point going for the UA-25 for standalone use.
Mics: A-51s LE, CK 930, Line Audo CM3, AT853Rx (hc,c,sc),  ECM 121, ECM 909A
Pres: Tinybox, CA-9100, UA5 wmod
Recorders: M10, H116 (CF mod), H340, NJB3
Gearbag: High Sierra Corkscrew
MD transfers: MZ-RH1. Tape transfers: Nak DR-1
Photo rig: Nikon D70, 18-70mm/3.5-4.5, SB-800

Can I use this box to run my JB3 via USB into my stand alone CDR burner via optical in so I don't have to transfer to a computer.

Or is there any other type of box out there that will take a 1x1 transfer from the JB3 usb to a digital input (coax or Opt.) on a stand alone burner(tascam CDRW700).

Just wondering

I found this for powering the UA-25:

http://www.referenceguide.com/reviews/keyspanhub.htm

"I opted to use the external power adapter (called “self-powered” mode), but I could have chosen to omit the adapter and use the hub in “bus-powered” mode, where it draws it’s operating power from the PC. (For those who care about such things, self-powered mode supplies 500 mA of current to each of the hubs four ports; bus-powering supplies 100 mA. Both modes supply 5 volts DC to each port.)"

If you use the USB hub and a RC battery, shouldn't you be able to power the UA-25 sufficiently?

These mini hubs are tiny.  No bigger than a RC battery pack.  Here's one on eBay.

I'm a dope.  USB has to be by cut via a mod, in order to pass through the other outs.  However, this puppy would then require a plug in power source, an additional mod that is not required on the UA-5.  Guess I will have to wait till 2006 for my dream stealth box.  Schnizzle!
