Tascam DR-05 micro SD card recomendation
« on: September 26, 2018, 10:02:55 AM »
So, I jumped to Tascam DR-05 want to buy a bigger card like 32GB, , already bought 2:  and ADATA and SanDisk  class 10, both and they are 16GB, so, for both, my maximun recording time is 2:02 hours at 24/48.  I found this tested media list of cards for the DR-05 went to this big distribuitor of cards and most of them are not longer aviable since they have "old" part number.
Could ypu please point me to buy the correct one
BTW: they had this one..... see pic, that will work? that one seems to appear on the tested media list

Stereo 24-bit, 48 kHz recording generates about 1 GB of data per hour.  The two hours you are seeing is probably due to a 2 GB maximum file size limit on the recorder.  You should be able to record eight such files with a (real) 16 GB card.  What happens when you run it past two hours?  It should start a new file...

To add on to Aaron ji’s excellent comment, when the new file starts, there should not be a gap — you should be able to stitch them together in the audio app of your choice. For Audible I use copy and paste. Have fun!

aaronji, made the recording time test:
Recorder set to 24/48 sample using a 16GB card Sandisk class 10
file 01 time left 2:04:12 and when it reaches 00:00:00 another file is created, 02 with 2:04:12 hours left
file 02 time left 2:04:12 and when it reaches 00:00:00 another file is created, 03 with 2:04:12 hours left
file 03 time left 2:04:12 and when it reaches 00:00:00 another file is created, 04 with 2:04:12 hours left
So, we have used here like 6 GB of the 16GB card

Thank you very much for the advise
