Question about attenuation/impedance between deck and mic
« on: December 28, 2005, 01:59:56 AM »
If the impedance of my recorder is Y ohms and I build an unbalanced, atennuating cable with a resistor of Y ohms in it, will my microphone see an impedance of 2Y ohms? Will my signal strength into the recorder be reduced by 6dB?
If not: what is wrong in my assumptions? (please educate.. ;-))
