External battery power for Edirol R-09HR
« on: April 29, 2011, 11:30:19 PM »
I'm looking for a practical external battery power solution for my Edirol R-09HR. I currently can get 3-4 (maybe 5) hours of record time on my Sony rechargeables. I'm looking for something that will give me more uninterrupted time. Anything out there?

Advice is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it’s worth.

I know this is my answer to EVERYTHING as of lately, but only because I REALLY LOVE the Sony PCM-M10!

So, my advice to you Tim, is to get a Sony PCM-M10 ;) You can get about 30hrs recording in 24-bit, w/ 4x2300mah Energizer rechargeables ;) I will have to switch batteries ONCE during ALL of All Good this year ;)

In the newest firmware upgrade there is an eco mode and I was getting 5 hours and 15 minutes with 2000 mah enlopes.  Also you could get a lenmar powerport and Ted makes a cable for the R09HR to run of these.  I think he may have one of the cables in the YS for $10 if you look a few pages back.  Here is a link to the powerport, I used this with my H120 and got great runtimes.

FWIW, I run my R-09HR on 5v USB power all the time with no issues.

That's what I'm looking for. What kind of battery are you using? How many hours do you get out of it?
