New taper needs help with JB3 setup
« on: April 05, 2006, 07:40:39 PM »
I plan on recording shows where crowd noise is never an issue (i.e. musicals/classical concerts).  I have the JB3 but don't want to spend much more than 2-300 dollars for the other stuff.  Is the SP-CMC-19 a good microphone choice?  http://www.soundprofessionals.com/cgi-bin/gold/item/SP-CMC-19

Also what preamp or ADC should I use to record line-in, if any.  Since the music never gets rock-concert loud is a battery box necessary?

I'm looking for a setup that will sound better than this file: http://www.easy-sharing.com/361316/For Good.mp3.html

Thanks for reading through my newbie questions.

with that budget I would go with some core sound mics into a battery box thenline into the jb3
Seriously, the band makes the music. Tapers just point mics in the right direction and hit "record".

That's good to hear!  The last patcher I had complained about my AKGs, fluffed schoeps for about 15 minutes, stayed patched in, and farted on me all night long.

Um, in my room, one seam is a little off and I stare at it constantly. It's, like, destroying me.
