Title: how do I do a screen capture of a dvd?
Post by: Gordon on September 13, 2005, 03:49:06 AM
so is it as easy as playing it in vlc (media player) and hitting the print screen button?  I know that will work but I'm sure there is a better way.  this is not something I'm authoring.  just one I already have burnt to disc.

What program are you using to watch your DVD? If you're using PowerDVD there's a button you can press and it will generate screenshot in BMP format. Then use your photo editor to save it as a JPG (if you want to post it online).

What he said...powerdvd should be available with a free trial at least.  Otherwise you can play the dvd on your tv, tripod your SLR digi and snap some photos...upload them, edit, post ;D

I use Vegas for all my editing, and it has the same feature the other guys mentioned -- you can save any frame of the video as a jpeg with the click of your mouse button.
