Taping Problem
« on: February 29, 2004, 06:05:45 PM »
Last night I ran AKG C1000s from a Mixpad into a Sony MZ-N505. I think I am hearing a good bit of distortion from SPL in the recording but I could be wrong. Is the phantom power from the Mixpad not adequate to combat this? If it makes any difference the mics were on -50db trim, running XY at 95 degrees at ~12ft. Any reasons why I am hearing this would be helpful. Also the level indicators on my N505 were never allowed to go over 4 bars, well off from producing diginoise. Thanks for any help and I can post a sample later this evening if that would be helpful.

If mass communications blend together harmoniously, and often unnoticeably, art, politics, religion, and philosophy with commercials, they bring these realms of culture to their common denominator—the commodity form. The music of the soul is also the music of salesmanship.
