Bumping this thread, I'd love to stop throwing away 3 9-volts at a time for my Aerco preamps. So what is the consensus? What does everyone like for rechargeable 9 volts and charging stations?

Are these still working well for you?

I just got those a couple weeks ago and besides the initial test at home I haven't used them.  Like I said I got 9 hours at home vs 4-5 on other ones.  Ordered another set but haven't tested them.

Used these in the field last week with good results!  Lined up about perfect with my home testing.

On full charge the Femto reads 16.4v.  After 2 hours and 11 minutes it read 15.5v

I kept a log when I tested at home

Again starting at 16.4v

after 2 hours 15.6v
3 hours 15.3v
4 hours 15v
5 hours 14.8v
6 hours 14.7v
7 hours 14.6v
8 hours 14.5

Died at 9 hrs & 14 minutes.

All other rechargeable's I tried averaged 4-5 hours in the same testing.

Just ordered this setup today (arrival tomorrow via Prime) as I have been doing 7-8 shows/month lately and sick of buying 9v's for the Sonosax (and never 'risk' getting 2 shows out of one set, as I'm stealth and not going to be swapping in that situation).

Mics: DPA 4021, AT 933, AKG CK31, CK32
Pre:  Sonosax SX-M2
Recorders: Oade ACM PMD660, Tascam DR-60D, Tascam DR-2D, Sony PCM-M10[x2]

Gordon thanks for the BAKTH battery and Tenergy charger links.  I ordered a set of the batteries & charger.  I hope to use the Femto at Gov't Mule next week.

No problem guys!  So far so good with both sets.  still have only ran in the field once but multiple test at home were great.  after about 2 weeks sitting the charge was the same as when cut off the femto.

You'll need a charger suited to the nominal voltage of the battery.  Other good features to look for are individual charging circuits for each battery bay rather than one circuit powering multiple bays, and some sort of "smart charging" routine which monitors the battery under charge and shuts off the charger once the battery has reached full charge.

This is the one I use, which can charge both 8.4V and 9.6V NiMH PP3 (9V) batteries- http://www.thomasdistributing.com/Maha-Powerex-MH-C490F-DC-9-Volt-9V-Battery-Charger-4-Channel-Smart-Battery-Charger_p_866.html

This one can also be switched to charge Lithium-Polymers via a hardware switch.  It works for 7.2V, 8.4V and 9.6V PP3 (9V) batteries- http://www.thomasdistributing.com/iPOWER-IP-FC904U-9-Volt--9V-NiMHLithiumNiCD-Battery-Charger_p_276.html

As I was considering trying the Ipower or EBL Lithium-Polymer PP3s, I was going to buy the second one.  However I've decided not to go the Li-Po route and just ordered new Maha 9.6V NiMH batteries last night.  Apparently Maha has discontinued the Imedion brand which had been their Low Self Discharge NiMH line.  Their newest LSD NiMHs are branded as Powerex Precharged- https://www.amazon.com/Powerex-Self-Discharge-Precharged-Rechargeable-MHR9VP/dp/B01FV0U5WG/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1482415851&sr=1-1&keywords=maha+9.6v+precharged

Thanks Gutbucket. Bought both the Maha Powerex MH-C490F-DC 9 Volt (9V) Battery Charger 4-Channel Smart Battery Charger and 4 black Powerex Low Self-Discharge Precharged 9V(9.6V) Rechargeable NiMH Batteries. Arrived yesterday. They were charged though not fully. So put all 4 batteries in charger within 2 hours all green lights and batteries ready to go. Used them last night with LB and all worked great. Thanks again.
