Nak CP-703 Shotguns?
« on: February 08, 2017, 02:26:22 PM »
Does anyone have any experience or opinions on the Nak 700 Shotgun caps? I almost never see them up for sale and can't find any discussion by using the search function.
A pair came up on ebay but damn they are expensive! Just wondering if they are that much better than the CP4 shotguns?

Anyone know what a fair price is for a set?

Hit up 'ts' on here. He has/had a pair that I recall seeing pictures of. As for price, they come up so rarely often that it's hard to really give a good ballpark figure. They're really long and look like a PITA to run in the field. I think ts had his shortened somehow.

I've only ever seen one source with them, a GD show from 80/81 and it didn't sound like a good representation of what they could offer sound wise, compared to some of the other shotgun recordings I've heard. I'm not a big fan of shotties anyways, so take that for what it's worth.

They are rare indeed. I have one that I sometimes run as a center channel between omnis. They sound nice. I know the set you are referring to.  I would not pay what they are asking,  otherwise I would have already bought them!

I see them more as collectors items - and less "must have" mics...slick - but we already know guns aren't the best for most situations...
