Anyone familiar with these adc > iPhone gizmos? Ever heard one?

Marketed to musicians, but wonder how it would do for our use.

Thanks, Chris

I've been using one for almost three years to stream shows from via  my deck (a mixpre-6 at the moment) and an ipad . Others here have been using them also...

SBD or microphones > deck > sonicport > ipad > mixlr

SBD or microphones > deck > sonicport > ipad > mixlr

What are the advantages of using this type of device to stream from a rig as compared to just going from the headphones out and using a headphone/microphone splitter on the iPad?

The headset route is mono only and newer iphones don't have headset ports but going that route is reasonable also. Depending on the deck there are also other strategies too. With the mixpre-6 I could also use the USB-a out to stream directly to an iDevice.

I ran one for a while, worked great! I wanted to stream all 6 TTB Beacon shows last year from the loge rail
and i did it and a few others and gave it away to another taper. It was fun, the first night 100 users...the last night with Trey 1200

my standard rig line out/headphone out >sonicport > iphone 6 lightning port in. Sonic port comes with it's own lightning cable. (and 30 pin for older phones)
Mixlr iphone app to broadcast. I used a $20 month account, so i could stream on consecutive days with running into any time limit issues.
