SP CMC-8 phantom powered?
« on: February 15, 2006, 01:24:28 PM »
Hey all, quick question for ya.  Will you fry the CMC-8s (stock from soundpros) if you dongle them into the 1/4" inputs on the MT and phantom power them?  If NOT, then would you get a better quality rrecording?  I know this is probably a retarded question, but I am just tryig to figure out what my options are when my new MT finally gets here.

Yes, you will fry.  Do *not* connect electret mics to phantom power directly.  Please do not do it :)

You need some kind of adapter (AT8533x, Samson PM4, etc).
