xbox 360 as an mp3 server
« on: May 03, 2006, 11:15:00 PM »
Figured out my xbox 360 can stream mp3s from my desktop via wireless.  Since the xbox has a digi out, it's all digital to my denon receiver.  Say goodbye to hooking the ipod up to the stereo...pretty sweet deal (and you can make streaming music the soundtrack in games)

you can do this with a modded original xbox as well.

I can stream 24bit flac, 16bit flac, mp3, xvid, divx, etc...just about any video/audio file you can throw at it.  You can also find digital hookups for it on ebay.  Last year I was running optical audio and compenent video out of the box...this year I can't because our tv is junky.

the xbox really is the ultimate media machine.

Because nothing says "I have lots of money and am sort of confused as to how to spend it" like Bose.
