If you look at page 15 of the data sheet it shows it but you are correct.

Reviving thread for clarification.  Does the following correspond to the pin assignments for the 7xx when viewing the recorder's receptacle?

What cable gauge do you use with these Hirose connectors ? I see the manufacturer says 26AWG but that seems very thin (and expensive).

Actually, I'm just pilfering an old power supply cable to use it with an "N" connector.  The only soldering will be on the other end of the cable.  Soldering a Hirose connector itself is more than I'd want to try; they are really small.

I just bought a XL-H Sound Devis 4 pin hirose connector,  HR-10P-4P.  i can't  figure out how get the pins out of the casing in order to solder a cable onto it. Any ideas?

The piece with the pins/solder cups unscrews from the external housing. Perhaps the easiest way to unscrew it is to plug it in to the receptacle and use the "flats" at the rear of the housing to turn the housing off the piece with the pins/cups. That would be much easier than using a fingernail to attempt to hold the innner piece while unscrewing the outer. Note there are about 10 threads so you will have to unscrew for quite a bit more than you initially think.

If you need pics of the disassembled pieces I can post one later.

Thanks for the reminder that I need to break out the iron and solder a few Hirose connectors myself.

Great, now that I know what pins are what, what are some good alternatives to use for external power for a 744T?  In other words, what do I do with the other end of the cable and what are small, lightweight, power supplies that will last a few hours or longer for a day long festival?
Normal: Nakamichi CM-700's >> SD 744T (or) Sony PCM-M10
Normal: Crown CM-700's >> SD 302 >> SD 744T
Fun times: 3 Crown CM-700's >> SD 302 >> SD744T + 2 Nakamichi CM-700's >> SD744T

I always used a RAVPower 23000 with my 744. It has variable DC output through the 2.5mm plug.

Great, now that I know what pins are what, what are some good alternatives to use for external power for a 744T?  In other words, what do I do with the other end of the cable and what are small, lightweight, power supplies that will last a few hours or longer for a day long festival?
