I taped this lastnight I had the gain up abit high but i think the mics were overloaded regardless.
source is at853 omni> batt box> jb3. 1st row mezz orpheum theater, boston

I think the omnis are a ton more sensitive than the cards. I have used the omnis only 1 time before and had this same problem. Is the only remidey modding the ends to xlr inorder to have 48v phantom?
if so who does it?

Sounds like they overloaded - I got similar results with the same exact setup (card mics), and yes, I believe phantom is the way to go.

Another route would have been JK labs PP9 box, but he's not been heard from for a couple of months.
