yet more 3 mic questions!
« on: August 22, 2003, 11:32:40 AM »
So I got this phantom power thing and this is my proposed plan for the chain.

third mic> phantom power> XLR to 1/4> 1/4 to mini> Sound Pros pre> Ass end of UA-5 (RCA).
Im figuring that the sound pros will give me gain am I wrong?

now the other question I have is this how important is cable length? the path for the third mic might end up shorter than the other two
am I fucked? what do you all think?
the show is over go home please.

well...if your cable is too short and can't get to the height you're running your other mics, yeah that seems like a problem...solution...longer cable!  or did i misread that...

I don't think you'll have a problem as long as your cable is long enough.  But I think you'll need something between the SP pre and the UA5.  Isn't the SP pre a mini plug?

i don't think there would be delay issues.... unless you were running a cable over a mile long...  good luck..
