Is the 1/8" output on the MixPre too hot to go into an HV30 mic input? I thought I'd be able to run it directly into the mic input of my Canon HV30, but it seems like it is too hot/overloads. Does anyone else know if I should be able to do this? If not, is there an in-line attenuator for 1/8"-1/8" stereo unbalanced connection to the camcorder? I suppose the other option might be to run the XLR line outs to the Signvideo XLR pro, but I was hoping to use less equipment/cables/complexity.

The HV30 is mic level input and the Mix pre tape out is consumer line level.
40 dB pad should do it.
You might try going into the HV30 menu and turning on the Mic Attenuator and run levels low on mix pre.

I think you answered the main question...it's line level into a mic level input. Do you know where I can find the 40db PAD? I haven't been able to find such a beast, but maybe looking in the wrong places...

Look at TR-159

Also Beachtek is really great, mounts nicely under cam.

Thanks for the links.
I tried it this weekend using the xlr line outs into my Signvideo XLRPRO, then into the camera. That worked out fine, it was just more cabling than I really wanted to carry/use.

Yeah, that'll do it.
