Any recommendations for clamps for SP-C4?
Thanks,
Jeff

Are you looking for clamps or shockmounts? The mics should have come with shockmounts. If you want to upgrade, the AT8410 are pretty much standard. For a true clamp, the bogen super clamp is the way to go. Do a search for more info on both.

Thanks...I'm fresh meat, so I apologize if I'm not getting the terminology down. I want to clamp the SP-C4's to a railing and the Bogen Super Clamp looks like overkill. I just don't want to buy some clamps and then find out they won't accomodate the mics.

This is the clamp I have, and it's perfect for pretty much any situation. Highly recommended...

i've even used a small rowi clamp and it has worked fine.

i have this one and the small rowi one,a nd i have been using this one more and more :)
on a side note: if the cheap plastic thing comes off the end you actually screw onto the stan/railing/whatever, try taking a bicycle cap and screwing it on their, i GUARANTEE that bitch wont come off again, its worked like a charm since i put the bike cap on too :)
give it a try ;D

My plastic thingy broke off the first time i used it. I've been using it without a cap. I might try the bicycle tire cap thing though.

Yeah, it does dig in pretty good without that plastic cap on there.

plastic cap -- the "big one" would be the same size as a car tire's valve cap (a schrader valve), while the small one would be a lot smaller (closer in size to a male 1/8" stereo jack) and would cover a valve with a fitting you'd need to unscrew before filling up the bike tire (a presta valve)
That help? I'm betting it'd be the "big" one
-
i wish i knew, i can measure, lemme see :)
the cap is: a wee bit less than 3/8 in diameter ;)
-
anybody try that bike cap thing ???
-
thats a schrader (sp) valve not a presta valve. presta valves are what road bike tires use, they are thinner and longer, schrader valves are fatter and shorter.

Yeah, me, too. Definitely gonna try the tire cap fix.

no problem brian, i was digging in the garage awhile back, and noticed 2 of them, and said to myself "wow, that freakin looks perfect :)"
put that thing on and its lasted me 10 phish shows and the whole moedown ;D

I got some today. The thread pitch is finer on the caps, so they get cross threaded when you put them on but, they do hold well that way. +T Bean!

+T backatcha bud ;)

bump for clamp cap replacement!

Super clamp can do it all and it comes w/ all the adapters to hook up a t-bar or split your mics. If ya got the dough go for it because a little weight ain't gonna kill ya.

I used some 5 minute epoxy and haven't had a promblem since. Knock on wood!!!

I second the SUper Clamp, that thing is rock solid, clamps to almost anything, and with the extension, works horizontally and vertically equally as well and can be turned to pretty much any position you'll ever want. I've got another cheesy clamp, but the superclamp is freakin' bombproof -- it clamps to the smallest tables as well as some pretty large posts no problem.
