Replacement hardware for speaker cabinet/terminal
« on: May 03, 2011, 01:27:28 PM »
A buddy of mine is looking for a replacement part as shown below.  The plastic knob at the end of the wire post has gotten stuck and won't unscrew to loosen the speaker wire.  He wants to replace the entire assembly.

Can anyone recommend a website that might carry speaker terminal replacement parts?  FWIW, the speakers are Klipsche, but they told him that they don't sell replacement parts.

If for nothing better,... this forum has a sub-forum dedicated to Klipsch speakers:

Certainly Digi-Key will have what you want, but binding posts like this can be purchased in many places.  Here is another source:

When your buddy removed this binding post, the nut and wire terminal connected to it may have fallen off inside the speaker, so he may have to get inside the speaker cabinet to fix it.

Have you considered asking you local authorized dealer to find the correct replacement part.  Many companies will not sell parts directly to customers but dealers almost always can get them.

Well, these aren't an exact match, but I've installed these; they're beefy!
Designed to be installed in wood (or other non-conductive) so drilling may be required.
I was surprised by their quality.
