Topic: Soundfield ST350 - Volunteer to build me a battery pack!!

I'm in the process of buying a Soundfield ST350 and was hoping folks here could help walk me through building an external battery source.  Admittedly I know little about building batteries.  Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.  Here's a link to the website with the specs.

It's a 10-16V DC input on 2 pin lemo connector.

I need direction on where to buy the components and wiring this sucker.

it should run off any 12V  lithium ion battery focker. you'll just need someone to build you a cable, but with all the cable gurus here that shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Yeah, that's what I need help with. I'm not so good in the cable realm.

You should be able to run off a number of batteries.

The description says it only pulls 7W so at 12V that's only about 0.6A.

You could probably run a 7AH 12V SLA (you should get a little over 11 hours) or any number of newer Lithum batteries, such as the battery geek 10-14-88.

The hard part is getting the Lemo connector.

I found some part numbers that may work - you will need to get the actual part number from and pinout Soundfield (should be in the manual).

You will need to make sure you get the polarity right so don't do anything till you either get the manual or talk to Soundfield about the pinout and part number.

FGG.2B.302.CLAD.92 Straight 2 pin
FHG.2B.302.CLAD.92 Right Angle 2 pin

Note sometimes there listed with out periods sometimes there listed without spaces and periods. Lemo always lists with periods, distributors may or may not.

I can't tell from the Lemo part numbers as they are pretty complex and the catalogs are less than intuitive, but here's what I could read from http://www.lemo.co.uk/product_files/Coax_triax_mixed_en.pdf page 3:

F = Plug
G/H = Striaght; H = Right Angle
G = Alightment Key -> G one indintation

1B,2B,3B = Series Type

302 = Connector Type (i.e. 302 = 2 Pin)

C = Brass Chrome-plated
L = Insulator (appears to always be L)
A = Pin type ( A=Male Solder; C=Male Crimp; etc)
D = Collet Type

92 = cable 0 max

bump, to say that I'll gladly pay somebody who knows what they're doing to build a battery system to support the 350 controller.

2pin Lemo - The DC input can range between 9 and 18V DC and requires 7W of power consumption.
Power is supplied by a 2 pin Lemo (pin 1 = DC, pin 2 = GND).


Soundfield sells a 2 pin to 4 pin XLR (I would assume it is a standard XLR male connector with pin 1 GND and pin 4 DC)

The Soundfield PN from the Manual is:
Battery Power Connection Cable (2 pin Lemo to 4 pin XLR) NN8181

Also there is a cable witrh a bare end:
Battery Power Connection Cable (2 pin Lemo to bare ends) NN8182

This may not be cheap though - only site I could find the NN8181 was musicisans gear and it was around $100US (N8182 is about $10 less) - I'd call the place where you a going to buy the ST350 from and ask the price.
