I'm diving into the various configurations / spacings / placements of mics to achieve different sounding results with different sounding bands and venues.
Instead of trying to explore each one in depth and imagine it's sound, is there a site that has done extensive testing; say several mic placements or different brands of mics, different preamps, etc. at the same source, to compare the results?
There are some clips on youtube I've looked at briefly, but ironically, they were in mono and not of much use.
